LAST OPPORTUNITY TO VISIT A ROYAL EXHIBITION AT HOLDENBY

August 01 2022

Following the huge success of the specially created Jubilee Exhibition, there will be a second and final chance to visit this fascinating display of Holdenby’s Royal connections.

The special exhibition “Elizabeth I to Elizabeth II 10 Monarchs & Holdenby” was warmly received by visitors to our “Right Royal Celebration” event for the Queen’s Jubilee in June.

“The display was outstanding”

“Many Thanks for sharing your beautiful home and fascinating display of royal exhibits”

“Very Exquisite”

So, following many requests for a second showing of the exhibition we will be opening The House with The Royal Exhibition in the Ballroom on Monday 29th August 12-3 pm (last entry to the house 2.30 pm). You will be able to see, amongst other things, the 420 year old deed that made Holdenby over to the Royal Family, a book that Charles I wrote whilst imprisoned at Holdenby and family memorabilia from every reign from Queen Victoria to the present Queen. There will also be a Royal Quiz to partake in!

While visiting us you will also be able to experience the historic and Royal sport of Falconry with a visit to Icarus Falconry, with it’s magnificent collection of Eagles, Falcons, Hawks, Owls and vultures and watch flying displays on the lawns. You may also like to meet Norma the Hedgehog along with other fascinating members of our native wildlife in our new growing Wildlife wing.

Connie’s Tea Parlour will be serving delicious teas in the historic surroundings of the Stableyard Courtyard and you will be able to visit our Stableyard Shop where you will find a range of boutique gifts from local gift company, Seaton Gifts.

We feel this would be a perfect way to spend the last Summer Bank Holiday of 2022!

We look forward to welcoming you1
